Before the year ends, I wanted to revisit the something that has weighed heavily on me for a number of months. The untimely passing of Matthew Mather, one of the most talented science fiction and techno thriller writers I’ve had the privilege of knowing—and one of the founders of DISCOVER SCI-FI, an collective of authors I’ve been a part of for several years.
I have a quick pitch for you, which some or many of you might find interesting. Matthew Mather invited me to be a part of a very special author collective several years ago…and I almost turned him down. Sounds odd to say, but it’s true. He asked me to join DISCOVER SCI-FI (DSF), which is now the premier, go-to places/sites for contemporary science fiction, post-apocalyptic/dystopian fiction and technothrillers. Back when he invited me to be a part of this group, most of the books offered were solid space sci-fi…not what I write at all. BUT ALL OF THAT CHANGED AFTER I JOINED.
As one of the founders, Matt wanted to expand DSF beyond traditional sci-fi to the post-apocalyptic and techno-thriller genres…which all fall under the science fiction realm. I immediately accepted his offer, because of my reading and writing habits. I write what I write, which is mostly techno-black ops thrillers—but trend toward sci-fi with my reading.
So here I am offering you the opportunity to subscribe to DISCOVER SCI-FI for what I consider to be the best of both worlds.

Here’s the official DSF pitch, in case my ramblings above are too much!
“I wanted to take a moment to let you know about Discover Sci-Fi (DSF), a site and newsletter I founded with 13 other incredible sci-fi writers, that brings readers the latest and greatest new releases, discounts and exclusive content in the genre. It's free to join, and I really think you'll enjoy getting our curated newsletter filled with the best of the best books coming out today.”
He is greatly missed. My love to all his loved ones.
DSF is a fantastic website! I subscribed from the beginning.
Happy New Year to you too, Steve. Love and Light. 🧡🌟🙏
